Terms of Service

DeepTrail is an AI-assisted public-source investigation service. Starting from a social-platform account or profile link, it can organize publicly available signals into an evidence-backed profile, relationship network, and activity timeline. API access may be available under certain plans.

The Service is an information and research tool. It does not provide legal, financial, employment, credit, insurance, or other professional advice, and it does not guarantee that a person, account, relationship, or activity has been identified correctly.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.

You must provide accurate registration information, keep your credentials confidential, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account and may not share, sell, or transfer it without our permission.

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with our Responsible Use Policy. In particular, you must not use DeepTrail to stalk, harass, threaten, discriminate against, exploit, or unlawfully surveil another person; expose private or sensitive information; evade access controls; or make a high-impact decision solely from an AI-generated result.

You are responsible for having a lawful basis for your investigation and for your use, disclosure, and retention of any result. Public availability does not remove privacy, intellectual-property, contractual, or other legal protections.

The Service may reference public webpages, social platforms, and other third-party sources. Those services are controlled by their respective operators and may change, remove, restrict, or correct their content at any time. DeepTrail is not affiliated with or endorsed by those operators unless expressly stated.

You must comply with applicable third-party terms and laws. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or practices, and a DeepTrail link or citation is not an endorsement.

DeepTrail uses automated systems and may draw inferences from incomplete, conflicting, outdated, or incorrect public information. Observed and inferred findings can both be wrong. Confidence or qualification labels describe the available evidence; they are not guarantees or probabilities of truth.

You must review the attached evidence, consider contradictory or missing information, and independently verify important conclusions before acting. Do not present an inferred or unresolved result as a confirmed fact.

Plans and credits. Available plans, prices, billing periods, and included search allowances are shown on the pricing page and at checkout. Search credits and plan access are personal to the purchasing account, have no cash value, and may not be transferred or resold. Unless expressly stated at purchase, unused subscription allowances do not roll over.

Paddle as merchant of record. Eligible purchases are processed by Paddle or its affiliates as merchant of record and authorized reseller. Paddle is the seller of record for those transactions and handles payment processing, receipts or invoices, applicable sales tax, VAT or GST, and order-related refunds. By completing a Paddle checkout, you also agree to the applicable Paddle Buyer Terms.

Recurring billing. A subscription renews automatically for the period shown at checkout unless you cancel it before renewal. You authorize Paddle to charge the payment method selected at checkout. Annual subscriptions are generally charged for the full year in advance. A one-time plan is charged once and does not automatically renew.

Changes. We may change future pricing or plan features. Changes do not alter a completed one-time purchase. For an existing subscription, we will provide notice of a material price change before it applies to a later renewal where required by law.

You may cancel a recurring subscription by contacting [email protected] or by using another cancellation method we make available. Cancellation prevents future renewals and normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period.

Except where required by law or Paddle’s applicable buyer terms and refund policy, completed purchases are non-refundable and we do not provide prorated refunds or credits for unused time or unused search allowances. Paddle processes approved refunds, payment disputes, and chargebacks for transactions where it is merchant of record. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.

The Service, including its software, design, models, branding, and original content, is owned by Ques or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for its intended purpose.

You retain rights in information you submit. You grant us the limited rights needed to receive, process, transmit, and hold investigation information temporarily in session-scoped systems to operate, secure, and support the Service. We do not store investigation information in our database, and we delete it when the investigation session ends. You represent that you have the rights and lawful basis required to submit it.

You may not copy, modify, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, circumvent limits on, or create competing services from DeepTrail except where applicable law does not permit that restriction or we authorize it in writing.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Investigation inputs, source material, and results are session-only: they are not stored in our database and are deleted when the investigation session ends. We separately retain limited account and operational information—such as your current plan, usage totals, billing records, and security records—where needed to provide and protect the Service or comply with law.

We may update, limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, that every public source can be accessed, or that any investigation will produce a particular result. We may set or enforce reasonable technical and usage limits to protect users, sources, and the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and that results will meet your requirements.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ques and its affiliates, officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of USD $100 or the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ques and its affiliates, officers, employees, and suppliers from third-party claims, damages, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may restrict or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms or the Responsible Use Policy, created risk or harm, failed to pay applicable charges, or used the Service fraudulently or unlawfully. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to appeal at [email protected].

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and dispute terms—will survive.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before starting formal proceedings, you and Ques agree to try in good faith for 30 days to resolve a dispute by contacting the other party.

Any unresolved dispute will be submitted to the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission for arbitration in Shenzhen, China, under the rules then in effect. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief, and mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

These Terms, the Responsible Use Policy, and policies incorporated by reference form the entire agreement about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with an affiliate relationship, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We may update these Terms as the Service or law changes. We will post the revised Terms and update the date above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice where required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
